Benjamin and Caleb Wortham
We were blessed with Benjamin Isaac on December 24th, 2007. Because he was transverse breech and early, he came via emergency c-section. During the birthing process, Benjamin's head and cord became entrapped in my contracting uterus, leaving him without oxygen. The OBGYN and attending RNs had immense trouble pulling him out, and they were not successful until I was administered nitroglycerin to relax my uterus and body. Benjamin came to us pale, blue, and limp, and he had to be resuscitated at birth. I had to be put under general anesthesia so was not able to fully participate in the entire birth process.
